Exploring Moroccan Higher Education Students’ and Professors’ Perceptions towards International Mobility Programs: A Qualitative Document Analysis of the Fulbright Program

Abstract

This research paper investigates the perceptions of Moroccan higher education students and faculty towards international mobility programs, with a particular focus on the Fulbright program. A qualitative document analysis was employed to analyze publicly available narratives by Fulbright alumni using thematic analysis and NVivo Plus software. The findings of the study revealed that alumni have positive perceptions towards the Fulbright program. Actually, despite the numerous benefits of international mobility programs, there is a dearth of literature investigating the perceptions of students and faculty at the same time vis-à-vis their experiences in the Fulbright program, chiefly the Moroccan population. Therefore, this study comes to address this gap in literature and provide insights as to how the Fulbright program is perceived in a Moroccan context. The study concludes with implications, limitations, and recommendations for future research.
