About the Journal

The Journal of Student Leadership (JSL) is a double-blind, peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary academic journal dedicated to advancing scholarship on ideas, theories, and issues of leadership. JSL distinguishes itself by welcoming high-quality contributions from students, faculty, professionals, and practitioners across all relevant disciplines.

Focus and Scope

JSL publishes papers, essays, poems, and artwork on leadership topics drawn from a wide range of fields, including business, education, law, policy, social sciences, arts, humanities, history, and technology. The journal serves two core purposes:

  1. To contribute to the scholarship and discussion on leadership
  2. To provide an engaging outlet for research, writing, editing, and publishing

Perspectives on leadership from every sector of the academic community are welcome. Academicians and students are equally encouraged to contact the editors prior to formal submission for feedback and an assessment of fit.

Peer Review Policy

All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Manuscripts are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, originality, and relevance to the journal's scope.

Open Access Policy

JSL is an open-access journal. All published content is freely available to readers worldwide at no cost, in support of the principle that research should be accessible to the global academic community.

Copyright Notice

Authors retain copyright of their work published in JSL. By submitting to the journal, authors grant JSL a non-exclusive license to publish and distribute the work in print and electronic formats.

Publication Frequency

JSL is published biannually, with issues released in Spring/Fall.

JSL is published under the auspices of Utah Valley University, USA. The editorial decisions are made independently of any financial considerations.
