About the Journal

Published by STAR Scholars Press located in Baltimore, Maryland (USA), the Journal of Insurance and Social Security (JISS) is an international, double-blind peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing rigorous scholarship at the intersection of risk, insurance, and social protection. The journal publishes original theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented research that strengthens the global body of knowledge in risk management, insurance, and social security systems.

JISS welcomes high-quality submissions from researchers, practitioners, and policymakers worldwide. While the journal maintains strong roots in emerging and developing-economy contexts—where questions of insurance penetration, financial inclusion, and social protection are most consequential—its scope is global, and it actively encourages comparative and cross-border research. The journal serves both established scholars and emerging researchers, offering a credible international platform for work that is methodologically sound, theoretically grounded, and relevant to contemporary policy and practice.
